Spray Tan Prep and Care

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SPRAY TAN?

Exfoliate 24-48 hours prior to your spray tan with an exfoliating mitt or oil-free scrub.

Shaving, waxing, facials, massage treatments, or nail services should be done prior to your appointment. Your skin should be free of any oils, lotions, deodorants, sunscreen, and makeup. Anything that creates a barrier on your skin should not be used. Bare skin please! Wear loose fitting clothing for appointment.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY APPOINTMENT?

We come to you! During your appointment, we will go over your desired color and make suggestions based on your needs. We will answer any questions and concerns you may have before beginning your spray tan. We will then prep you with a hair net, sticky feet, and pH balancing spray for an overall even tan. While receiving a spray tan, your technician will guide your through all the body positions. Don't worry, it's not too much of a work out! After your tan, we will take a look at it together to ensure you received your desired color - we can always go darker. After you are satisfied with your tan, we will start the drying process which includes warm air from the hose and drying powders to lock in your tan. You can then step out & get dressed in the comfort of your own home!

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

Do not wear any tight clothing immediately after your spray tan. Please do not put your bra back on! It is recommended to wear dark, loose fitting clothing. Cotton is best. It is important to remain dry for at least 8 hours after your appointment before taking your first rinse. You should avoid any activities that will make you sweat or put you in water prior to the 8 hours. The color will continue to develop up to 24 hours.

TIME TO RINSE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Absolutely NO soap. A really slow rinse with luke-warm water is best. Only use your hands to remove the bronzer, and focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, etc. The #1 cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off properly and can stain the skin for a few days.

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE STREAKS AFTER SHOWERING?

Hop back in the shower and do another rinse. More than likely, you didn't rinse off the bronzers fully and you just need to continue rinsing.

HOW DO I KEEP MY TAN LASTING?

Moisturize daily with lotion, but remember to avoid oil-based products. It is important to use a gentle, sulfate-free body wash to avoid damaging your tan. Pat-dry instead of rubbing when showering. It is important to keep skin moisturized after your spray tan as dry, flaky skin will fall off faster and color will fade sooner. Your goal is to slow down your body’s natural exfoliation process.
