WHY SPRAY TAN?
Spray tanning allows you to achieve a bronze glow all year round without the health risks of tanning beds. A thin mist is sprayed onto the desired areas of skin, and the skin turns a natural-looking shade of tan. The process works because of a chemical called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This chemical is actually colorless, but it interacts with the amino acids that naturally occur in skin cells. When they come into contact, the skin cells become several shades darker. DHA poses no known health risks and has been used in cosmetics for decades.

HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST?
On average, the airbrush will last 10-14 days depending on your skin preparation prior to tanning and the amount of time you leave the DHA solution on your skin before bathing. It honestly depends on how you prepare and how you take care of your spray tan.
WILL THE SOLUTION TURN MY SKIN ORANGE?
With proper pre-care and solution used, your skin should not turn into an orange color tan. Please head over to our Tan Care page for more information. DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is the active ingredient found in all sunless tanning products. It is a simple carbohydrate that is primarily used as an ingredient in sunless tanning products. The DHA works with your skin to produce a natural looking tan without orange discoloration.
HOW LONG DOES AN APPOINTMENT TAKE?
The duration of the appointment will vary by client and needs. On average, the entire appointment will take 20-30 minutes. This includes set up & breakdown.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR DURING MY APPOINTMENT?
It is completely up to you! Whatever you choose to wear or not to wear. We provide complimentary nipple covers and disposable thongs for each client should you choose to use them. You may feel free to wear a bra, underwear, bathing suit, or go fully nude.
WILL THE SOLUTION STAIN MY CLOTHING?
All cosmetic bronzers used in the solutions are water-soluble. Therefore, in most cases, the solution will come off in the washer. To minimize the bronzers from transferring to clothing, you should follow post-care instructions in wearing dark, loose fitting clothing.
CAN I SPRAY TAN IF PREGNANT OR NURSING?
Our tanning solutions are a food grade product, and there are no known side effects from it. DHA is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. There is no evidence that DHA is harmful. As a precaution, if you are pregnant or nursing, you should consult with your physician and get permission before receiving a spray tan application. It is recommended to wait until after the first trimester.
WILL A SPRAY TAN PROTECT ME FROM UV RAYS?
No! Your skin will still burn when overexposed to the sun. It is still recommended to apply SPF when in the sun. The solutions do not contain SPF protection. You skin will still naturally tan under your spray tan.
MY SKIN IS PEELING. CAN I STILL GET A SPRAY TAN?
It is not recommended to get a spray tan on peeling skin. Your tan will be blotchy.
HOW SOON AFTER MY SPRAY TAN CAN I WORKOUT?
It's recommended to wait until after your first rinse to work out. You risk stripping your tan with sweat and moisture. 12 -24 hours please!
WHEN CAN I APPLY LOTION AGAIN?
Wait 12 hours AFTER your initial rinse before applying any kind of lotion. CeraVe is our go-to lotion. For other options, Aveeno and Hempz are also recommended. Moisturizing is the key to prolong your spray tan - twice daily will give you the best results.
I FEEL LIKE I RINSED MY TAN OFF, IT ISN'T DARK ENOUGH. WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Wait 24 hours for the tan to fully develop. If you're not satisfied, reach out and we can respray you to meet your desired tan.
WILL JACUZZIS, SAUNAS, OR THE OCEAN REMOVE MY SPRAY TAN?
Yes, it will remove majority of the tan and/or lighten it. Saltwater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of your tan. We recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water!
